4th of July fun in Kansas!

We had a lot of fun on the 4th.  It started the night before when we went over to the Baalmann's house for grilled jalapenos and ribs.  Mmmmm.....They did a few fireworks, and Jack enjoyed sitting with his Aunt Melissa and watching them.  Here they are hanging out on the porch.

Watching the fireworks through the railing!

Lounging with Aunt Melissa!

The next morning we went golfing with a big, fun group!  Here is Jack enjoying a little snack!

The group getting ready to tee off!

Julie, Melissa, and Gillian.  (Gillian looks like she is taking the driving very serious!)

Our little fam on the golf cart.

Daddy showing Jack how to swing.  I love this precious picture!

That night the Enslinger's had their annual 4th of July barbaque.  It was lots of fun, good food, good company, and always the best fireworks show in town.  Here are some highlights:

Dean thought it was so funny to fill my child with chocolate any chance he got.  On the 4th, it was Hershey bars.  Later, it was M&Ms.  Here is my chocolate covered little guy.

Dean with both his little chocoholics!

Me hanging out with some of the kids watching the little fireworks they had picked out before we started the big show!

Jack and mommy.  Jack really wasn't bored with fireworks.  He just apparently didn't want to take another picture.  His face cracks me up though....

I am kind of a wuss when it comes to doing fireworks.  But I did a bunch of Roman Candles.  (You have to hold them as fireworks shoot out the end.)  We may have captured a few pictures where I am ducking away or jumping, but I still did them at least, even if I looked wussy doing it!

Our family watching the fireworks displays.  Jack really liked them.  He was saying "wow" and "ohhh" throughout.  Pretty cute.  It was a great show!  Kansas never disappoints, especially compared to the "nothing off the ground" rule in Utah!

Daddy and Jack doing a sparkler!

Mommy helping Jack do a sparkler.  (This attempt was much more successful then my first attempt with him when we both got burned when he pulled the sparkler towards us and it broke and burned us both!)

The tired, happy fam at the end of the fun filled day!
