Adventures in Kansas Part 1

We went to Kansas for about 10 days over the 4th of July.  We had tons of fun, got to visit lots of people, ate yummy food, and got very spoiled.  We have lots to talk about so I will be doing posts in sections.  Here are some of our random pictures of people we got to visit, and there will be much more to come!

One night we got  to go over to Great-grandmas for a delicious fried chicken dinner.  It was amazing, and after Jack got to go for a walk with Great-Grandma to the garden.
Here they are coming back with a zucchini Jack got to pick.
Another night we went to eat and get me some fried cheese and fried jalapenos.  This night  Jack got his first taste of "gambling." They had a machine there that you drop quarters in and if you are lucky a little platform moves and pushes your quarter against other money and the money falls out for you.  Jack kept winning and he really enjoyed it.  He was doing little dances in front of the machine every time more quarters fell out.  I think he made around $4.50.  Nice.

Here he is checking out the quarters to see if anymore are going to fall out.
One night we got to go visit one of Dustin's good friends from college, Katie.  It was great to visit with her and her husband, while watching Jack and Clayton play.  They are pretty close in age.  Here is Dustin and Jack with Katie and her two kids, Clayton and Faith.

Me with Jack and Faith.

Jack and Clayton going "fishing."
Jack really enjoyed family friends, Kim and Dean and their house.  I like their beautiful remodeled house as well.  One night we went over and  Jack loved sliding down and playing on their big sand pile.  This night we were over a delicious brisket dinner.  Jack enjoyed being around all the animals.

And bothering the cat inside her house....

One day we drove out to Salina so we could meet up with some of Dustin's aunts.  Melissa and Gillian also came down.  It was nice to see them, and we had a yummy lunch at Logan Roadhouse.  I provided some nice entertainment for all before lunch by missing my chair and falling flat on my butt on the wet floor.  Awesome.

After lunch:  Dustin, Jack, Aunt Bonnie, Aunt Linda, Aunt Ruth, Patty, Melissa, and Gillian.

After lunch Dustin, Jack, Gillian, Melissa, Patty, and I all went shopping. We all got spoiled while shopping, Jack wanted to hold Gillian's hand, Jack broke a glass plate that thankfully Kohl's didn't make us pay for, and here they both are with the Gorilla's grandma bought them.

On the way home from Salina, we got to stop and see Dustin's best friend from high school, Pat.  He owns a bar/restraunt called The Spot.  It was fun to get to see him and let him see Jack.

Jack got to go behind the bar for a bit and "help" Pat.

With Aunt Melissa and Gillian at The Spot.

Mmmm.  One thing I love about Kansas is that some places fry just about anything.  Here is our family enjoying one of my favorites:  fried pickles.  Oh they are SO good!
