What has Jack been up to?

Jack and I left poor Dustin alone for 10 days and we are in Logan visiting. Poor Dustin!:( We are missing Daddio but having a good time in Logan with family and friends. Saturday night we went to a wedding reception of one of my best friends/ex-boyfriends from high school. And I was able to see lots of friends from the good old days! It was fun to see them and catch up a bit! I am hoping to spend time with a few more friends this week. Here is a pic of some of my friends that we saw there:

I made this slide show of Jack before we left and thought I would finally put it on to show everyone what Jack has been up to. When I get home I will have to post some other funny videos and pictures of Jack getting into some trouble already. Oh boy am I gonna have my hands full in the future with this busy, curious little guy! So here are a bunch of fun pics of Jack showing what he has been doing lately. (Grandma E. if you want any copies of these, since they are in a slideshow, let me know and I will email them to you!) Enjoy! We sure do enjoy our little Jack-Jack! :)

Talking Jack!

Jack is quite the chatterbox lately. His favorite sounds to make are roaring sounds, "ma-ma-ma" (yeah, I wish he actually was referring to me, but tis not so even though I would like to think so), high pitched screaming, and incoherent low ramblings to himself as you will see in the second video. He also absolutely loves to spit, kick his legs really hard, and he is fascinated by his feet and toes lately as he rubs them together and has even started sticking his toes in his mouth as you can see in the first video. So here is Jack doing a lot of talking....Sorry the second picture is kind of bad, but I shot it over the edge of the couch, so he couldn't see me, because I snuck up on him and Daddy in the morning. Jack was obviously telling Daddy a really long and detailed story! :) (The story reaches its climax around 40 seconds based on Jack's excellent story telling abilities!) Jack was also fascinated by Daddy's T-shirt through the whole thing too!

Jumping Jack!

Here is Jack in his little Jumperoo that some friends let us borrow. He absolutely LOVES this! He would probably jump for hours if we would let him. He looks so cute as he jumps too! He loves to show off for anyone who will watch! So here is Jumping Jack!

Jack's New Foods.....

We know we have had some requests for more videos of Jack, so the next few posts will be videos of Jack-Jack showing off for all to enjoy!

So Jack is pretty much a veteran now of trying new foods, but we are a little slow posting the video of it. Several weeks ago we introduced baby food to Jack. We started with sweet potatoes, which Jack absolutely loves....then we moved on to bananas. This is the video of Jack enjoying??his first taste of bananas. Jack has now also experienced peaches, pears, applesauce, and squash as well as crackers and teething biscuits. The next goals are peas, green beans, and carrots...I am a bit frightened of the upcoming diapers! :) Jack's favorite thing to do after finishing eating is the reward he receives from Daddy of getting to chew on his spoon! He also loves to try to feed himself, as you can see in the video. By the way, if we haven't mentioned it....the little guy has had his two middle bottom teeth come in!! Wahoo!! They are pretty cute little teeth!

Mother's Day Weekend in Logan

I have so many amazing women in my life!! I have been blessed with two amazing grandmothers, a sweet grandmother-in-law, and a wonderful, loving, fun mother-in law. My mother-in-law, Patty, raised Dustin to be such an awesome, loving, sweet man, husband, and father. I am extremely thankful to her for raising such an outstanding son, and also for the mother that she now is to Dustin and I. She is also such a fun, attention-giving, over-spoiling grandma to Jack!

But now I I would like to write a little something about my mother so that those unfortunate people who do not have the privilege of knowing my amazing mother can know how very blessed I am! I could go on for pages about how great she is, but I will try to keep it to a minimum. My mother truly is the most wonderful woman! Simply put she is so selfless, caring, supportive, hard working, loving, funny, fun, Christ-like, sweet, thoughtful, and beautiful. I can only hope one day to have a small portion of the amazing characteristics that she has as a woman, a wife, a mother, a family member, a friend, and a humanitarian. I truly feel so blessed to have her for my mother and Jack is super lucky to have such am amazing grandma! Thank you mother for being the most wonderful mom any gal could hope for! I hope you had a great Mother's Day, and I am glad I was there to share it with you! I love you lots!!

We went down to Logan for Mother's Day weekend to spend it with my mom, dad, and sister, Lisa. (Well we had fun with Lisa in between her working 5 shifts in 3 days!) We played games, watched the Jazz win a couple of games on TV, visited both of my amazing grandmas, and got to see my sis-in-law Stacy and her kids. Dustin also got to go golfing with my dad, which he has been aching to do. We took my mom out to dinner at The Copper Mill for Mother's Day on Saturday night, and on Sunday she made us an amazing dinner, which she probably shouldn't have done on her special day, but it was AMAZING! Jack started getting sick on the drive down, and by Thursday night had a pretty mean cough and a runny nose. He tried to be happy for everyone though. It was too short of a trip, but it was lots of fun! Mostly, it was wonderful to spend my first Mother's Day with my dear mother. I forgot my camera most places we went, but here are some pictures from when we came home from church on Mother's Day and a few other snapshots.

My First Mother's Day!

I thought that since it was my first Mother's Day on Sunday that it would be okay to do a post dedicated to being a mom to Jack. Being a mother is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced in my life. The joy I felt the moment I saw him after he was born, after the shock of his HUGENESS wore off :), was indescribable - I have never known such happiness, or such love, in my life! Who knew that a little baby boy could bring such happiness each day to me and make me feel so loved! In the morning when we go to get him out of bed and he looks up at me with those big blue eyes and a huge smile, as if I am his hero for rescuing him from his crib, is a happy, precious moment. Those moments continue on all day long! His little smiles and excitement at me talking to him throughout the day makes me so happy! I love making him laugh, and will really do anything crazy to get a giggle out of him! He truly is a sweet, fun, wonderful baby! He entertains me with his jumping, "talking", roaring, squealing, kicking, arm movements, and overall pure happiness and contentment. Not to mention, he puts up with me acting so crazy and posing him for a bazillion pictures! He is amazing and I am so thankful that right now I am able to be home all day with him. That is a huge blessing in my life, and I can't imagine it being any other way! He is my little buddy and sidekick all day, every day! He is my absolute joy! I love you Jack!

I don't usually put very many pictures of me on here, but for this occasion I will, but be warned, some of the pics are kinda beastly! :) However, here's a few pics of mommy and son anyway:

I love to cuddle with Jack! He is a pretty cuddly baby....at least when he is getting tired. He is also learning how to give hugs and kisses. I must say that he gives some of the best "loves" ever - He drapes his arms around our neck, squeezes a little, or just dips his head down against our chests.

My absolute favorite time of day is in the morning when I get to lay in bed with Jack and cuddle. We play, sing songs, and snuggle. Then we get to go back to sleep....I absolutely love and cherish this bonding time that we have! :)

Jack's shirt says, "I love my mommy" and yes, he does! :) He shows it so well too! He makes me feel so special and needed.

Nice slobber Jack! That's okay! I still love you! (BTW, I love how he always touches my face like in this picture!) So....
does he have my eyes? Some people say maybe so....

Going down the slide!

Getting ready to go swimming!

Here is Mommy and son posing all cute before a night out with Daddio! Then one minute later.....

.....I think we are still posing all cutesie, but no, my son is actually eating my hair (filled with curling products) as I am smiling on completely oblivious! :) Whoops!

One last thing, Dustin got me beautfiul bracelet for Mother's Day with a lock and key charm on it. He told me I am the key to our whole family and to his happiness! What a sweety! Thank you Dustin for always telling me that I am a wonderful mother! I love you and Jack more than anything! And.....Happy Mother's Day to me! :) More on my wonderful mother later! :)

Our Fun Weekend Getaway!

This past weekend Jack and I got to go up with Dustin to Great Falls. Dustin had to work the football's Spring scrimmage. We left Friday and got to stay in a hotel. We went swimming, went to the scrimmage, and hung out. We came back Saturday night, so it was a quick trip but a nice little get away. Here are some hightlights from the trip!

This is Jack all ready and waiting for daddy to get home so we could drive up to Great Falls. Jack had to wear this shirt to show off to the GA that gave it to him when we arrived in Great Falls. She loved seeing him in it! (We loved this shirt so much that we tried to return it and get a bigger size that will fit him this summer, but they didn't have any more, so Dustin went back to the return counter and bought it back!)

Jack flexing his BIG muscles! WOWSERS!

Here is Jack in the hotel room getting ready to go swimming! (Is it just me or do his feetl look HUGE!?)

Jack and Daddy pool side getting ready to go swimming! He actually had a suit to swim in this time thanks to Aunt Stacy! He looked so stinkin cute in it too!

Jack and Daddy swimming!

Jack and Mommy swimming. We got to go swimming twice! Once Friday night with Daddy and then Saturday morning after Daddy had to go to work. It was lots of fun watching Jack kick and splash. He really got a kick out of chasing other kids in the pool. He really seems to love the water!

Jack floating!

Saturday afternoon we went and watched the Montana State football team scrimmage. MSU won! :) It was a really nice, sunny day, and it was fun to hang out with the Higgs family (Dustin's boss's family) Here is Jack decked out in his Montana State colors! (He actually slept in my arms under a blanket for half of the scrimmage!)

Jack and Daddy after the scrimmage. Matchy Matchy!

Hanging out with Bailey, Brady, and Jodi at the scrimmage. They went swimming with us and ate lunch with us too. Jack sure did keep them entertained all day!
